As a Loan Assistant, incumbents will contribute to CorTrust's business objectives by supporting loan officers in the lending process. They will collect, maintain, and review documentation and be a point of contact for customer and internal questions and must be able to communicate professionally across a broad range of departments and roles.
Daily duties for this position:
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory change and complete relevant training to ensure compliance with lending regulations and Bank policies.
- Understand and support loan officers in all steps of the lending process, including document management, customer communications, credit reporting support functions, repayment parameters, and processing payoffs.
- Accurately process time-sensitive disclosures according to regulatory requirements and review documents to ensure proper completion and retention.
- Confidently and courteously communicate with customers and internal partners to resolve issues and respond to inquiries.
- Process loan denials and loan application withdrawals.

- Possesses combination of education and experience to perform primary duties and responsibilities of position.
- Adapts easily to system, process, product, policy, and service changes.
- Ability to reason, problem solve, and think critically while maintaining focus on customer service.
- Demonstrates high level of integrity, personal diplomacy, and respect.
- Ability to understand and abide by all CorTrust policies, procedures, and applicable banking regulations.
- Knowledge of industry and area specific workflows.
