Join our team as a Litigation Paralegal and be an integral part of our firm dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of clients facing life-changing side effects and complications from unsafe drugs and medical devices. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys with pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, as well as assisting in office administration.
We are currently seeking a detailed-oriented and adaptable individual to join our firm as a Litigation Paralegal. In this role, you will primarily focus on supporting our legal team in managing and organizing complex litigation cases, managing calendars, conducting research, filing complaints. Our firm primarily operates in the pre-litigation phase, with trials being a rare occurrence.
Responsibilities:

Filing documents with the court and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.

Analyze and summarize medical records to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of evidence.

Assist in the preparation of and responses to discovery requests.

Maintain files, calendars, and organization systems for a wide variety of cases and matters.

Work with attorneys to establish procedures and processes for teams.

Handle attorneys' deposition calendars, including materials prep, noticing depositions, travel arrangements, and invoicing.

Understand and keep track of numerous court deadlines, keeping the team on pace to meet those deadlines.

Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence.

Conducting legal research using various sources, including online legal databases.

Communicating with clients to provide updates and gather information.

Learn and utilize the firm's complex database.

Bring issues to the attention of an attorney.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Paralegal Certification not required but preferred.

Strong working knowledge and experience using court systems, ECF, PACER, e-filing required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.

Strong project management skills and experience training junior paralegals/assistants.

Strong verbal communication, listening skills, and excellent writing skills.

Organized and detail-oriented.

Proficient in MS Office applications (i.e., Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, basic PowerPoint).
