Overview:
Lincoln Pet Clinic is currently seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our furry patients. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, kennels, and equipment
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Collect samples for laboratory testing
- Monitor vital signs of animals under veterinary care
- Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and their owners
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required (2+ years)
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care, aseptic technique, and veterinary terminology
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and animal catheterization
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and behavior
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
