SUMMARY:
The Limited Maintenance Electrician is responsible for all maintenance throughout the plant, including repairing and maintaining a wide range of processing equipment.
Essential Functions:
Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Position is responsible for ensuring equipment integrity and timely repair.
- Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
- Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs (troubleshooting of equipment issues).
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment.
- Ensure safety by following all company policies including safety rules, procedures and Lock-out / Tag-out procedures.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), personal safety standards, food safety standards as well as OSHA standards.
- Troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment as well as all plant electrical and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, distribution, feed control systems and develop sustainable solutions accordingly.
- Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted. Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders, detailed logs and have good communication skills across all groups/departments.
- Identify required parts and maintain current inventories, and parts reorder lists.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
- Current Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) License issued by the State of Oregon.
- Current driver's license.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems 24vdc to 480v, 3 phase, read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment in a plant including experience in electro-mechanical/multi-craft/multi-skilled Maintenance practices. Strong plus if trained and experienced in compressed air systems, Refrigeration systems, Boilers and Hydraulics.
- Strong mechanical background in a production setting troubleshooting and repairing gearboxes, conveyors, sprocket/chains, belts, clutches, and brakes. Knowledgeable in use of all power tools, hand tools, welders, drill presses, etc.
- Experience with control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, analog transmitters push buttons, contactors, motors, motors, motor starters, single and three phase electrical components, transformers, etc.
ABILITY TO:
- Willing to work shift schedules plus overtime as dictated by the needs of the business, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to Climb ladders, stairways, use a manlift/scissor lift at ceiling heights or above with proper safety equipment and work in non-air-conditioned environment.
- While performing job duties, the associate will frequently walk, use hands to feel or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. Frequent exposure to oils and greases or coolants.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects/ tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed.
- Practical problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of variables.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to work from drawings, schematics, sketches and through verbal communication.

- Talk, hear, and smell.
- Required to stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift 50-70 lbs. Performs highly repetitive motions, stand for eight plus hours.
