Library Technician (Part-Time)

The City of Pflugerville is seeking its next Library Technician (Part-Time) to join our team! The person we seek will believe in and exhibit the City's P.F.I.R.S.T. core values: Positive, Forward-thinking, Integrity, Resilience, Service, and Teamwork.

As a Part-Time Library Technician for the City, you will greet and direct library patrons, offer essential computer assistance, shelf, and check-in and out library materials.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Provide customer service from the circulation desk to check books in and out and other library materials; issue library cards; collect over-due fees.
• Assist library patrons in identifying and locating library books and materials.
• Return library resources/materials to appropriate locations.
• Assists Library patrons at the circulation desk with book returns and checkouts, payment of fines, and completing Library card applications and hold request forms.
• Collects payments for Library book sales.
• Empty the book drop and book collection areas, return books to available status using the catalog system, and shelf Library materials according to established procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Relatable Work Experience: One (1) year experience working in an office/library environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in English
