The Library Specialist is responsible for supporting the work of the Access Services Resource Sharing unit. This includes processing I-share materials, providing backup support for Interlibrary Loan as needed, and overseeing the work of student employees in the unit. This position staffs the Circulation Desk and Daley Library entry points, enforces conduct policies to maintain a scholarly environment in the Library, and is responsible for morning opening operations. As a member of the Access Services department, the Library Specialist assists patrons via phone, email, and at service desks in the Daley Library.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
A. work experience in a library or equivalent setting.
B. college course work in any field as measured by the following conversion table
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
