Location: Sutter County Center - Yuba City, CA
Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned, Administrator and in collaboration with tutoring coordinator and Librarian provide instruction and assistance to students; oversee daily operations, implementation, and outreach of tutoring and proctoring; catalog, process, and circulate library and media materials; and perform a variety of clerical and service duties in support of related Library & Learning Services.
Essential Duties Summary:REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Provide logistical, technical, and administrative support in the implementation of daily operations related to the successful delivery of tutoring (including but not limited to general education, writing support, subject-specific tutoring, and online tutoring) and proctoring services.
Assist with the recruitment, hiring, scheduling, training, and day-to-day supervision of a large group of tutors; prepare tutor timesheets and contracts; and support accurate gathering and reporting of tutoring statistics and related budget.
Coordinate hiring procedures and paperwork for student tutors and temporary tutors.
Interview, hire, train and supervise student front desk workers.
Verify student workers hours and serve as a backup timecard approver, approve monthly payroll.
Train and provide work direction to student assistants in the processing of library materials and establish procedures and priorities and review work for accuracy.
Assist students and staff at the reference desk and provide information to research projects.
Assist in orientation and training to students and staff in use of library materials and conduct library orientation tours using multimedia programs.
Compile information and prepare and maintain a variety or records and reports related to assigned activities; establish and maintain filing systems; prepare and distribute a variety of correspondence, forms and other documents pertaining to departmental activities.
Provide excellent and consistent customer service to a diverse range of library patrons, including students, staff, faculty, the general public, vendors, and other educational institutions.
Provide basic support to library patrons related to using and accessing databases and other computer-based resources; provide and explain library-related policies, procedures, circulation services, resources, fees, returns, and other information; prepare overdue notices and repair damaged books.
Catalog print and non-print materials using acceptable cataloging tools.
Implement and coordinate inter-library loan policies and assist patrons requesting special material.
Prepare and distribute instructional materials.
Exercise sound judgment, creative problem solving, and objectivity to resolve a variety of problems at different levels of intensity or importance.
Make recommendations regarding needed instructional and departmental supplies and equipment; request orders be placed and receive supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures; report issues and problems to appropriate departments for service.
Attend and participate in various meetings, conferences, and in-service trainings; attend school functions and organize outreach events to promote assigned program.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot issues for a variety of office and instructional equipment, software, and hardware.
Respond to changing program needs and maintain current knowledge of program and organizational laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
Assess tutor performance and provide suggestions for improvement. Be a resource for tutors.
Collaborate with staff to develop, promote, and present student success workshops and departmental workshops.
Monitor and meet program goals and expectations related to faculty, staff, and students.
Ensure student confidentiality.
Provide computer, instructional software, and course management support to students.
Report to the information technology department or to the software company any persistent problems in using the software.
Compile and review data for research projects and reports related to college retention efforts, service usage, and student progress; prepare and maintain records and reports; provide statistical information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: a bachelors degree in liberal studies, English, coursework in library science, and two years increasingly responsible experience in library, Learning Services work or experience working in a tutoring environment. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Drivers license and/or ability to provide own transportation to and from assigned sites.

Range/Step: Range 31 (CSEA Salary Schedule)
Salary Range: $24.88/Hr. - 35.07/Hr. (Steps 1-11)
