OVERVIEW:
The purpose of the Lending Business Analyst I is to support Lending staff and the Business Analysts II and III in daily lending tasks and processes through system functions. This position is responsible for supporting the work and maintenance of loan workflows within the lending system, maintenance of consumer lending rules related to loan decisioning, and participating on projects as a lending team member involving lending system and related products. In addition, the Lending Business Analyst I will participate in test plan completion in support of new underwriting rules, loan policy changes, and report development using the LOS reporting tool. A significant degree of creativity, data analysis and problem-solving skills are required in order to deal with lending issues.
With no budgetary responsibility, the Lending Business Analyst I will support lending personnel with lending policy and decisioning rules and loan process workflows, analyzes, tests and identifies business process improvements and efficiencies, and provides support for other lending assignments as requested. This position has limited supervision of work and supports lending systems and completes testing of lending rules and processes, maintains and develops knowledge of lending trends, underwriting automation, and member needs, and provides input and creates reporting related to lending production results and decisioning logic. In addition, this role tests upgrades and business requested enhancements, analyzes, researches and recommends business process improvements/efficiencies, and supports the department when workload requires and provides after hours assistance as needed.
EDUCATION:
- General and business knowledge equivalent to an associate degree with certification
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-5 years of loan center processing experience or equivalent experience
SKILLS:
- Decision making requires the ability to choose from options outlined in established procedures
- Normal courtesy and tact are required
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of general interoperability of financial industry lending processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Maintains strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Lending Origination software
- Ability to quickly learn, use and document a variety of complex lending solutions
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and part of a team
