Legal Secretary / Office Assistant Position:
We are seeking a Legal Secretary/Office Assistant to join our team! You will perform clerical and administrative functions in order to drive company success, while working in an engaging and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Opening firm doors at 8:30am
- Answer inbound telephone calls
- Develop and implement organized filing systems
- Perform all other office tasks
- Handle organizational and clerical support tasks (such as scanning, naming and filing case specific document)
- Data input and managing electronic filing system (Data input into electronic case management system)
- Assist Attorneys with scheduling appointments, including depositions and meditations.
- Assisting Attorneys and Paralegals with calendar management, including entering dates, determining firms open availability and confirming scheduled dates.
- Assist Paralegal with requesting medical records and bills from providers.
- Formatting legal documents for Attorneys and Paralegals such as Interrogatories, Request for Production, other miscellaneous pleadings
- Assisting with building Pre-Litigation cases, such as sending requests, mailing letters, and speaking with clients to obtain/provide updates.
- Assist with preparing and submitting authorizations to correct entities for collection of needed client record(s).
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in office administration or other related fields.
- Ability to balance daily workload while prioritizing assigned tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to properly document files.
- Ability to self-assess and ask for assistance with tasks when needed.
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient with Word processing applications
- Prior Law Firm experience is necessary, with a preferred preference for experience in a Personal Injury Law Firm
