We seek an experienced Legal Secretary to undertake the clerical and paralegal tasks of preparing the documents required in probate cases, and to work with clients, under the supervision of the attorney in the management and administration of probate cases.
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate legal documents and correspondence
- Bring a legal background to the job
- Be computer-literate with strong word-processing skills
- Have good time management skills
- Be a self-starter
- Be comfortable dealing with a diverse range of people
- Facilitate the meeting of deadlines
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Transcribe dictation and prepare correspondence
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Assist with legal drafting and proofreading documents
- Handle confidential information with discretion
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role required
- Proficient in WordPerfect
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
