Responsibilities:
- File and maintain legal documents and correspondence
- Perform clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing
- Assist with drafting and proofreading legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
- Transcribe dictations and prepare legal documents from written or oral instructions
- Utilize document management systems to organize and track files
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred
- Previous experience working as a legal clerk or in a similar administrative role is a plus
- Proficient in using document management systems and other office software applications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is an advantage
- Strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy of legal documents
