Purpose of Position:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of communications and electronic equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications. Troubleshoot and repair current military and commercial radios and equipment. Research appropriate supply/management systems and maintain automated audit and updates procedures. Inspect and perform maintenance actions and determine repair parts. Use diagnostic and test equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair radio and related equipment. Use hand, air and electric tools and shop equipment. Perform clean-up duties and police areas as assigned. Support/participate in Company Continuous Improvement Process (CCIP) and QA Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This job description is indicative of the work required for the position, but not all inclusive of the work required to perform the duties oof the position.

1 Request, receive, verify accuracy; issue, process, and stock class IX repair parts.

2 Responsible for RX and excess parts accountability and Turn-In Process, conducts quarterly and weekly Shop/Safety Stock inventories and utilizes GCSS-Army to maintain appropriate item availability.

3 Maintain/update equipment management records IAW DA PAM 750-8, utilizes GCSS-Army to update and maintain supply management systems IAW DA PAM 710-21.

4 Ensure that non-deadline parts are requisitioned within three (3) workdays of being identified as required.

5 All COMMEL equipment will have (ECODs) estimated cost of damages, (ACODs) actual cost of damages with equipment classifications as required on all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for COMMEL equipment.

6 Deadline parts are requisitioned within one (1) workday of equipment being identified as deadline.

7 Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination with COMMEL Supervisor to ensure maintenance actions are completed.

8 Ensure that LIS is used to manage any and all maintenance records.

9 Ensure that Parts coded as "pilferable" or "sensitive" are stored separately from other Class IX items in a locked in the unit shop supply storage area Ref: AR 710-2, Para 3-34b.1

10 Perform spot check 20% of the units SSL (10% Shop Stock and 10% Bench Stock)

11 Responsible for performing a shop stock inventoried quarterly.

12 Maintain the Communications Shop in a good state of cleanliness.

13 Actively participate in Safety, Quality Assurance and Customer satisfaction.

14 Personnel in COMMEL will be assigned “additional duties” to facilitate the smooth operation of the section. These include, but are not limited to Calibration Control, Key Control, Tool Control, Safety, Master Driver Publications.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requirements:

· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

· Two (2) years verifiable experience in warehouse or supply operations.

· Experience must include at least six months’ experience in the current position except for employees being promoted to a higher rated position.

Expertise:

· Request, receive, verify accuracy; issue, process, and stock class IX repair parts.

· Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

· Writes performance evaluation comments and reports when placed in a control/assignment directive role.

· Works under stressful circumstances and meets short suspense dates.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the project.

Unique Qualifications:

· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a military operator’s permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate.

· Must be a United States citizen or be authorized to work in the United States.

· Must be eligible for and maintain a government security clearance.

Physical Factors

Physical Demands:

· Must be free of medical restrictions/limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/or prevent the wearing and utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, blowing sand, and dust.

· Employees shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description.

· Work is predominately office.

· Must be able to operate office computers and other equipment.

· Must be able to maintain files and records.

· Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

· May be required to work uncommon hours of duty, extended hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
