Job Description
We are a small Defense Litigation Firm seeking a qualified legal assistant. This role will also serve as the firms Office Administrator. The position will be responsible for managing the law firm's day-to-day administrative operations, processing all accounts receivables and payables in a timely and efficient manner while supporting our legal team.
The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working independently.
Candidate should be be proficient in MS Office and be trained in the use of the Courts' electronic filing systems. Should be organized and have excellent communication skills. Experience with e-discovery platforms and management of large document productions is preferred, as well as, experience in preparing legal correspondence, maintaining files, managing calendars, drafting legal documents, organizing meetings and travel arrangements for attorneys, and generally also assisting in running a law office.

Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties (scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics)
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Collect, examine, and organize medical records.
- Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and reports
- Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
- Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems

Salary: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
