A Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to the Legal function. Primary responsibilities will be drafting legal documents, conducting research, and assisting with filing and organizing documents. Excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently are essential to be successful in the role.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain legal files on the Company's electronic document repositories, including a contract lifecycle management system
- Assist legal team with court, regulatory, state, and federal filings, and communications
- Assist with editing, formatting, and finalizing legal documents and correspondence
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for attorneys
- Communicate with vendors, law firms, and other professionals on scheduling, billing, and follow-up
- Performs other duties as assigned
About You
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- 2+ years Legal or Administrative Assistant experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines
- Demonstrated self-initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Effective communication skills with internal and external individuals in various functional areas and at all levels of management.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the company's internal and personnel affairs.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Willing and able to become proficient in other software, and data and matter management systems used by the legal department.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
