Woodbury, NY Legal Assistant

Woodbury (Long Island), NY multi-state insurance defense firm seeks experienced Legal Assistant to assist attorneys in all phases of litigation. Candidate must be organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Prior insurance defense litigation experience preferred.

Experience Requirements:

• 3+ years Legal Assistant experience

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Draft and serve answers, pleadings, discovery demands/responses, notices, stipulations, motions, affidavits, RJI's, etc.
• Draft reports and correspondence
• Document productions, redactions, etc.
• E-filing & E-Service (State & Federal)
• Prepare excel spreadsheets
• Maintain calendar for assigned attorneys: enter court appearances, motion return dates, mediations, IMEs, all adjournments dates, etc.
• Case management: importing documents into document management system
• Communicate with clients and coordinate with support services, opposing law firms and courts
• Motion preparation and identification of exhibits
• Document productions and redactions
• Preparation of witness/exhibit lists and trial binders
• Retention of expert witnesses, preparation of expert indexes, production of records
• Additional administrative duties

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
