Position: Legal Secretary/Paralegal - Matrimony
Position Type: Temporary
Location: Whippany, NJ
Hours: 9am – 5pm
A reputable law firm located in Whippany, dedicated to providing exceptional legal services in the field of family and matrimonial law is seeking a motivated and experienced Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the matrimonial field, with a strong understanding of filing court documents, calendaring court appearances and mediation sessions, preparing discovery, and responding to discovery requests.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare legal papers for filing with the court
- Support attorneys in various tasks
- Draft letters and legal documents
- Answer client telephone calls and emails, providing excellent customer service
- Organize file materials and maintain calendar for court appearances and deadlines
- Assist in filing court documents and ensuring timely submissions
- Prepare and manage discovery materials
What experience we are looking for:
- Previous experience in the matrimonial field is highly preferred
- Familiarity with filing court documents, calendaring, and discovery processes
- Knowledge of civil litigation is a plus
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
