This vacancy posting is an open continuous announcement that establishes a standing register of eligible applicants, which closes on 03/13/2024. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be 01/16/2024 with subsequent reviews every 30 days as additional vacancies occur, or on an as-needed basis, until positions are filled.
This is a bargaining unit position that it is not currently covered by a bargaining unit agreement.Qualifications: Resumes may be pulled every 30 days after the Job Announcement opening date and as vacancies occur within each duty location.

Minimum Qualifications:
GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-04 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:

  • Applying standard office procedures to maintain business processes, such as keeping records, filing forms, typing correspondence, and preparing letters and packages for mailing, shipping, and storage.
  • Reviewing and distributing incoming communications, files, and documentation to clients, customers, and co-workers.
  • Using common computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office) to support basic office activities, such as inputting information into databases and templates, and updating and maintaining electronic office scheduling and tickler systems.
  • Reviewing documents, forms, and records for accuracy and completeness, meeting time-sensitive deadlines according to schedule, and tracking changing requirements.
  • Assisting with collecting and communicating information with customers, clients, and co-workers on items related to inquiries, such as the status of projects, updates to schedules, and alerts to approaching deadlines.
Substitution of Education for Experience:
You may substitute successful completion of four years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
Combining Education and Experience:
Appropriate combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-05 grade level.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
