Busy Long Island Law Firm Seeks Immediate Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Small, fast-paced, Manhasset based civil litigation Law Firm Seeks a full time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to become part of our team! You will provide overall support to attorneys and interact directly with clients, courts, attorneys, insurance adjusters and vendors in a challenging, yet enjoyable work environment. The position offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and grow with the firm by handling a variety of matters, including Personal Injury; Landlord-Tenant disputes; Family Law; Contract Disputes; Estate Litigation, and more.

Responsibilities include:

• answering phone calls;
• scheduling court appearances and depositions;
• managing calendars for attorneys;
• putting together exhibits and necessary documents for motions and other court filings;
• e-filing;
• file/deadline management;
• assisting in trial preparation;
• client and attorney contact;
• various legal drafting, dependent on experience; and
• office errands.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a litigation paralegal, legal secretary, or other Law Firm experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate;
• Strong work ethic, fast learner, phone and writing skills;
• Strong team player with excellent communication skils;
• Comfort on the phone;
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task, being deadline and detailed-oriented;
• Ability to speak Spanish is a strong plus but not required
• Have a car and be willing to travel outside of Nassau County, as needed and with reimbursement; and
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and legal software.
