SalaryWORK FROM THE COMFORT OF HOME for our Florida Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law Firm - seeking discovery assistant with extensive Florida litigation experience to work from his or her home. This position is on a contract (Independent Contractor) basis, but may have the option of potentially becoming an employee position in the future. Previous experience working in a law firm performing litigation discovery is required. Pay range is $20 to $30 per hour depending upon experience. Hours range from 20 to 25 hours to start.
If you live in the following areas we are very interested in speaking with you: St Petersburg, Gulfport, Seminole, Largo, Clearwater, Palm Harbor or Cape Coral and Fort Myers.
You must have a quiet, secure space in your home office, with a computer and printer. We supply the office phone, and office supplies.
The job requirement is primarily discovery.
Musts are:
1. Handle discovery (incoming from Defendants, as well as outgoing from Plaintiffs) pertaining to negligence and medical malpractice.
2. Review and analyze Interrogatories, and draft responses that specifically answer what each question asks, or in the alternative object with proper objections. You should have a good understanding when and what to object to.
3. Review and analyze Requests to Produce, and draft responses specific to requests posed, or in the alternative object with proper objections. You should have a good understanding when and what to object to.
4. Pay attention to detail, and proofread drafts to make sure they are formatted correctly, and are complete, before submitting them to attorney for final review.
5. Complete work in an efficient and timely manner under deadlines, and tickle tasks for follow-up when necessary.
6. Be a people person and able to handle a variety of personalities, while helping clients stay focused on the task at hand and getting things back to you/us in an expeditious manner.
7. Have experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook Email, Teams, and OneDrive).
8. Smart Advocate client management platform experience is a plus but we can train.
9. Have experience with Adobe conversion from .pdf to Word documents.
10. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion at all times.
