Job Description
SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this role is working collaboratively in support of firm attorneys to provide the best legal services possible for the benefit of our clients in our Workers Compensation Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain contact with assigned clients from assignment through settlement.
- Manage and handle day-to-day work of the cases for clients benefit and attorneys review.
- Prepare all outgoing correspondence and send via mail, e-mail, fax or e-fax to/for clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, or any other relevant parties to the client’s case; prepare drafts of discovery, pleadings, motions, and/or any other relevant litigation documents for attorney review/signature.
- Review medical records received and prepare/update client’s medical chronology.
- Maintain and organize client folders timely and update proactively.
- Review incoming documents including mail, e-mail, fax or other correspondence DAILY; save applicable information to client’s electronic chronology folder and notify assigned attorney of updates for attorney review.
- Schedule and calendar in firm’s case management software DAILY on all relevant events including, but not limited to, in/out of office meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, and/or any other events.Log appointments on calendar AND case management software.
- Draft discovery responses with specified timeframe of receiving the request from opposing counsel.
- Meet expectations of GRACES protocol at all time to ensure client satisfaction with services rendered by the firm.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of workers’ compensation or legal case management experience preferred but not required;
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Spanish speaking is preferred but not required.
