Vernis & Bowling is currently seeking a self-motivated Legal Scheduling Assistant to join their civil litigation and insurance defense team. This position will ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management providing administrative support to the attorneys and paralegals under the supervision of an attorney or lead paralegal.
This position is highly involved in the daily operations and will serve as the scheduling assistant responsible for coordinating, scheduling and calendaring hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings between our office and multiple outside parties.
Additional Duties include but not limited to:
• Monitor deadlines
• Prepare and revise notices, orders, correspondence and simple motions.
• Enter and maintain information, documents and records in case management database.
• Clearing conflicts, opening new cases, and setting task, to-dos and Court deadlines
• Handle all incoming and outgoing mail parcels.
• E-Filing, scanning, managing vendor invoices and medical records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook.
• Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Proven work experience as an administrative assistant in a law office, familiarity with legal protocols and court system is a plus. Ability to manage multiple activities and work under pressure.
Critical to success is attention to detail, follow-through, accuracy, communication and organization.
