As a member of the Design Team, which is within the Product Team, you will play a critical role in both improving existing programming and piloting new initiatives that round out the holistic student experience in Braven. One key program you will own is the Professional Mentor Program, which currently serves 800 mentoring pairs a year (and growing), and serves as a key lever in supporting students in attaining internships and other career-accelerating opportunities while in college. You will keep the outcomes and needs of students as well as the changing labor market front and center to determine the future direction of this program as well as potential new programming.
This role is on the Product team and reports directly to the VP, Design.

  • Conduct and synthesize user research, observations, and feedback to determine root problems to solve in the pursuit of strong student outcomes and experiences
  • Collaborate with other designers and members of our team to ensure a consistent and effective arc of experience for our stakeholders

Facilitate & Support Program Execution (20%)
  • Effectively facilitate live national trainings and events for hundreds of students and volunteers in the Professional Mentor Program

  • Strong virtual facilitation skills for adult Learning Experiences
  • Keen design instincts and ability to create effective and beautiful presentation decks that others can easily use to facilitate
  • Strong ability to synthesize different kinds of data - observations, user interviews, research, feedback, and quantitative data - to determine root problems and key improvements to make to designs
  • Tech savviness and can learn new technologies quickly
  • Belief that feedback is vital to your work and are able to process large amounts of it
  • Detail-oriented and consistently meet project deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Exemplification of Braven's core values
  • Experiences that have informed your belief in Braven's mission and have prepared you to work with, or for, Braven's student Fellow population
