Easterseals-Goodwill (ESGW) is seeking a dynamic and creative Learning and Development Specialist to spearhead our newly established department. As the architect, you will play a pivotal role in identifying training needs, designing innovative programs, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. You will have the unique opportunity to shape and build a learning culture that enhances productivity, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
In our diverse organization with service lines ranging from thrift retail to administration to clinical settings, your expertise will span across various roles and responsibilities. As we build this department from the ground up, you'll have the unique opportunity to create learning experiences that resonate with employees in different domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Needs Analysis: Identify training needs through interviews, focus groups, and interactions with managers. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess strengths and weaknesses within the organization.
- Program Development: Interact with employees at all levels to design and develop training programs that align with company goals. Create structured learning experiences, teaching plans, and an annual training calendar.
- Content Creation: Develop engaging training materials such as handouts, instructional materials, videos, manuals, etc. Ensure content caters to varying levels, from entry-level to leadership, showcasing creativity and an eye for design.
- Instruction and Delivery: Instruct and deliver training classes, fostering a positive learning environment. Use metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and make continuous improvements to the curriculum.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts from different departments to facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of functional training programs for specialized roles.
- Partnership Building: Facilitate partnerships with departmental representatives to identify and address training needs, ensuring alignment with company strategic objectives.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports and feedback to the Project Manager, Vice President of People Services, and other leadership as needed.
- Positive Learning Environment: Create a learning environment that encourages positivity, creativity, and respect among employees.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Build and grow the learning and development department from the ground up.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in learning and development, preferably in a start-up or entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Creative mindset with an eye for design in content creation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in using metrics to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to develop training materials for various employee levels.
