Normal Work Schedule (Other):: Tri-County typically operates during the hours of Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The successful candidate can expect to travel between multiple campuses in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties.

Job Responsibilities
The Learning Commons at Tri-County Technical College seeks a collaborative and highly personable Learning Commons Assistant Director. The Learning Commons Assistant Director drives the implementation and incorporation of student-centered, co-curricular learning services and instructional activities across all facets of the TCTC Learning Commons. Coordinates, integrates, and innovates academic support programs and services within the Learning Commons, including, but not limited to tutoring services, Supplemental Instruction, early alert and academic recovery, research instruction, workshops, and makerspace activities, and collaborates in support of allied SSE programming. Contributes to and assists with strategic planning and helps guide developmental initiatives.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Directs the unified instructional efforts of the Learning Commons and maintains and assures a shared focus on the LC's co-curricular objectives and learning literacies. Fosters multifaceted approaches to student learning, cultivates student belonging and engagement within the LC, and furthers the transformative student experience. Establishes and extends collaborative relationships and partnerships with allied divisions, departments, and programs across the college.
SUPERVISION: Serves as the direct supervisor for the Learning Strategist and administers recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and assessment for respective personnel. Optimizes the growth and development of personnel in designated roles.
ACCREDITATION AND ASSESSMENT: Serves as the point person for CRLA membership, maintaining accreditation standards and certifications. Facilitates training for academic support personnel and tutors in concert with CRLA standards. Regularly assesses academic support programs, services, and initiatives, recommending next-steps in our developmental trajectory and helping to guide a continuous improvement process.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Maintains and manages the lines for all budgetary operations and personnel for tutoring services throughout the Learning Commons. Serves as the primary administrator and LC knowledge manager for select academic support platforms and software. Recommends enhancements to data tracking systems and knowledge resources. Collaborates with key colleagues to enable consistent data-tracking across diverse platforms and operational areas of the Learning Commons.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER: Monitors trends and developments in instructional pedagogy/andragogy, educational psychology, learning sciences, adult learning theory, and allied areas of interest to professional practice within the Learning Commons. Serves as a contact and conduit for the inclusion of new research and innovations into the Learning Commons co-curriculum. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree is preferred in an area closely allied to student academic support services, including, but not limited to, student affairs, human development, information science, adult learning, among others. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in student support or an allied field with evidence of progressive responsibilities and supervisorial skills is encouraged.
