Job Responsibilities:

The person in this position will be responsible for the nursing staff. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, other department managers, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate resident care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of the facility. The duties of this position include:
Job Duties:
Supervision and reviewing nursing staff
Overseeing the department budgets
Assessing the needs of residents and informing staff of new resident arrivals
Maintaining high standards of care
Responsible for the entire nursing unit in the absence of the DON.
Managing patients' data and medical records
Providing supervision to staff on daily duties.
Assist DON with any scheduling, shift planning, and training
Identify and suggest corrections in the working system
Monitors completeness and appropriateness of Nursing staff documentation
Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of Nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.
Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff, following up on work results.
Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations.

Pay: $74,880.00 - $89,440.00 per year
