Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a highly experienced HVAC and Refrigeration technician. You will be working independently and traveling to health care facilities to inspect their equipment. You will need to identify problems with their units and perform routine maintenance or repairs where necessary.
When required, you will install new systems following corporate and legislative regulations and practices and ensure everything runs smoothly. We work with commercial customers, so you must be confident working with large pieces of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
Our optimal candidate has a minimum of 7 years in professional HVAC and Refrigeration experience and can work well independently and as part of a team.
Your Duties and Responsibilities as an HVAC and Refrigeration Technician- Travel to health care facilities and other locations as scheduled.
- Determine the customer’s concerns with their existing HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
- Troubleshoot and perform all necessary tests and inspections on their current heating, cooling, ventilation and Refrigeration systems.
- Repair/replace their existing HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on all HVAC and Refrigeration units.
- Install new HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC and Refrigeration resources.
- Commissioning of new ventilation and HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
- Develop and maintain a service schedule.
- Prepare and submit job reports daily.
- Researche and select materials for HVAC and Refrigeration system installations, repair, and maintenance.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Estimate jobs, layout, material research and selection.
- Create estimates and proposal documents for customers.
- Create maintenance checklists.
- Lead junior technicians in complex repair work.
- Repair leaks, run leak tests, and add refrigerant gas to build up prescribed operating pressure on all systems.
- Repair components and perform complex modifications of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components, including compressors, cooling towers, motors, pumps, fans, piping, transducers, flow switches, low pressure chillers, economizers, variable speed drives, etc...
- Ensure mechanical systems are operating at peak efficiency.
- Responds to and performs emergency repairs as required.
- Class A Florida State Certified HVAC license.
- Certification for handling refrigerants from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
- Minimum of 7 years experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Own reliable transportation.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic worker.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
- Availabe to work standard 8 hours shifts and be on-call when needed.
- Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
- Ability to prepare proposal documents, specifications and cost estimates for projects.
- Must understand local electrical and HVAC codes and have a strong general mechanical aptitude.
- Experience repairing and installing cooling towers.
- Experience repairing and installing walk-in coolers.
- Experience repairing and installing walk-in freezers.
- Occasionally travel throughout the State of Florida and stay overnight if/when needed.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour. Depending On Experience.
