InnVentures, founded in 1982, manages 70+ and growing hotels throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, and Florida. We are headquartered in Kent, WA. This position works directly with the Regional Controllers to complete the monthly financial reporting for each of the properties assigned to the Staff Accountant.

JOB OVERVIEW - Lead Staff Accountant
We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and detail oriented individual to join our team. Staff Accountants ensure that all financial and accounting operations within an accounting department run smoothly. They oversee the work of a third-party accounting service, review financial statements to ensure accuracy, and assist with reconciling general ledger accounts. Mentoring and guiding the third-party accounting service is an important function of this role. Accounting Supervisors are assigned to specific ownership groups and/or groups of hotels in which they are responsible for helping to ensure ownership needs are completed and the Financial process is completed. This is a full-time salaried position with extra hours as needed, particularly during month end close.
A TYPICAL DAY:
o Analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices
o Identifying potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities
o Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports
o Accurately preparing tax returns and ensuring that company taxes are paid in a timely manner
o Monitor and complete the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual accounting activities:
- Bank Reconciliations
- Invoices & check runs
o Complete owners and auditors’ requests for information
o Interact well with immediate team members and hotel personnel
o Mentor and help guide third party accounting service
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting
o Hospitality experience
o Advanced understanding of accounting (assets, liabilities, accruals etc.)
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
o Efficient time management to meet strict deadlines
o Effective communication skills
o Detail-oriented
REQUIREMENTS:
Accounting Degree or equivalent experience is required. To be successful in this role, you need strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to read, write, type and use various forms of technology and reporting to discern and track sales and financial data.
