JOB TITLE: Lead Med Tech
REPORTS TO: Nurse Manager

Summary: The Lead Med Tech will oversee and provide for the needs of residents in a personal care facility and assist them with activities that include daily living and self-care. This position will directly supervise Nursing Aides on shift, ensuring adequate staffing and accountability of performance. The Lead Med Tech works as part of a team to provide the highest quality of care for residents. We are actively hiring for all shifts!

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates an understanding of and models the mission and values of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth through behavior and attitude
- Communicates with CTC on a daily basis with updates about staff and other issues
- Communicates with Nursing Manager on a daily basis with updates about resident care
- Administers medications to all residents
- Serves as a professional resource to the nurse aides by coaching, advising, and mentoring
- Coordinates staff scheduling for any call-offs, while on duty
- Maintains disciplinary/corrective actions of staff in conjunction with the care team coordinator and/or nursing manager
- Collaborates with the care team coordinator in identifying performance improvement opportunities/evaluations
- Review daily ADL/medication charting audit
- Assist with mentoring and training new hire employees and contractual employees
- Adherence of break schedule for staff, dining room and chapel monitor, assist in areas of need
- Makes rounds throughout shift to ensure quality standards
- Complete shift report and report updates to team to maintain continuity of care
- Support direct care staff and medication technicians, while on duty
- Assume the role of direct care staff or medication technician with providing care and administer medications, as needed
- Manage and maintains pager and cell phone, while on duty
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Care Team Coordinator, Nurse Manager or Administrator
- In the absence of the Administrator, Nurse Manager, CTC, or Med Tech, serves as the Administrator Designee

- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Med Tech Certification, CNA or Medical Assistant
- Minimum of two years of experience in long term care setting
- State, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances, if applicable
- Basic computer, written and verbal communication, and time-management skills
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Criminal background check/drug screening
- Meets all health requirements imposed by law
- Ability to lift/assist residents, physical activity such as walking, kneeling and bending for up to 75% of the time
Working Conditions:
Contact with blood or other body fluids may pose a risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases. Required to work every other weekend.
