Job Description Lead Environment, Health & Safety Auditor (Health & Safety Subject Matter Expert)Decatur IL - IllinoisCorporate ComplianceThis is an exempt level position.Position Summary:Archer Daniels Midland Co. has an immediate opening for a senior Lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Auditor at our North American headquarters in Decatur, Illinois.This position will lead combined EHS and process safety audits at ADM facilities throughout the United States and Canada for compliance with all EHS rules and regulations, including, for example: OSHA and EPA requirements, life critical standards, air emissions, water discharges, etc. Job Responsibilities:Reporting to the Global EHS Audit Manager, responsibilities include:Leading multi-disciplinary EHS audit teams including other internal auditors and EHS subject matter experts (SME);Independently performing EHS compliance and management systems audits;Contributing to audits as an environmental subject matter expert; andPreparing and communicating compliance findings and recommendations verbally and in writing to all levels of management.Job Requirements: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Sciences or related EHS fields.At least 10 years industrial experience.At least 5 years auditing or closely related work experience.Experience with plant-based processing, food, flavour, and beverage industries an asset.Subject matter expert (SME) in environmental topics.SME in Health & Safety and process safety topics also is an asset.Knowledge and experience auditing Air Permits including Title V under State and Federal regulations required.Knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations required and Canada regulations a plus.Specialized knowledge and experience with internal audit practices.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Systems, results, and continuous improvement-oriented approach.Skilled at objective, logical analysis and forming clear and convincing conclusions regarding EHS compliance for large, complex industrial processes.Excellent time and project management skills.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.Candidates with advanced skills handling, assessing, and presenting analyses of large data sets using Microsoft Lists, Excel (e.g., pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Visio will be preferred.Approximately 50-60% travel; office in Decatur (IL), at another ADM location in continental US, or remotely, depending on candidate.Physical capability and endurance to climb ladders and walk extensive staircases up tall grain elevators.Be physically able to wear a NIOSH approved particular respirator if needed during the audit fieldwork.
