CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS’s in-store and online data, extensive reach, and to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service; these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers. CMX is a highly visible and anticipated initiative for CVS with aggressive growth goals over the next 3-5 years.
CMX’s Leadership team is seeking experienced an industry manager to help build and lead the end-to-end development & management of our Onsite Search product allowing for the execution of customer first campaigns from vendor and internal partners.
The Lead Director of Onsite Search Product will build a product roadmap strategy to unleash transformative value from data, digital interactions, and experience across the CVS digital ecosystem for customers, and leverage new technologies and partnerships to ensure we drive competitive product set for our monetization growth strategies. The Lead Director of Onsite Search Monetization will work alongside counterparts within CMX Strategy and Media as well as CVS FS and Rx Marketing, Merchandising, Digital, IT.
This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics centered around internal search that are critical for our monetization growth strategies. The successful candidate will be a storyteller of the right information and excel in their ability to visualize and communicate complex and dynamic information and insights in new and creative ways to achieve our roadmap objectives. This role will report to the Executive Director of Enterprise Consumer Value, and will have consistent exposure and engagement with Lead Director peers, VPs, and SVPs.
Key responsibilities:
• Build and owns the Onsite Search product roadmap end-to-end, working with cross-functional teams to bring execution team to life. Manages product to ensure profitability and a scalable growth trajectory, through interconnected partnership with digital, operations and finance teams.
• Work with our analytics, digital, marketing and creative teams to proactively identify insights that will drive action for our organization. This includes not only identifying pain points for customers, but also potential solutions to those issue
• Work with internal stakeholders to design experiments, pilots, or to measure the success of initiatives for cvs.com homepage advancement.
• Recommending broad approaches and areas of opportunities to meet the targets and long-range plans to senior leadership and team: highlighting areas of concern or bottlenecks to the leadership team
• Understanding the industry strategy across other departments (for example, marketing, eCommerce marketing, and Stores)
• Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to drive the business forward.
• Builds, leads, and develops a team with a minimum team size by providing direction and guidance to associates on career development; Conducting weekly meetings, providing constructive feedback to associates to enhance skills, knowledge, brand perception, institutional knowledge, and work performance; conducting performance and career development conversations; engaging and mentoring less experienced managers and associates.
• Oversees and is responsible for financial results in area of responsibility
• Driving a cross-team/functional workstream; tracking against key performance metrics; creating a playbook for the industry in partnership with other industry managers; crafting conference-worthy case studies that demonstrate the approach, solution provided, success story, and results achieved by the marketer.
• Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes
• Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
• Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 100,000
Maximum: 227,000
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in digital product development and/or, marketing business planning, and analytics in a retail, health services or other related industries.
• 5+ years of experience leading the strategy development and execution planning of transformative projects from end to end, with both internal and external entities.
• 5+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functionals projects across all levels within an organization and relevant external constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
• Digital and agile strategies and implementation experience; current on key retail trends, customer behaviors and ability to navigate external insights.
• Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks and illustrations.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to share a vision, establish scope, ruthlessly prioritize, and ultimately deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant customer and financial impact.
• Highly flexible, with the ability to effectively lead through ambiguity and quickly adapt.
• Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to vision the future state, test hypotheses, and synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable strategies and tactical plans.
• Intellectual curiosity and rigorous analytical experience and a strong familiarity with the digital environment..
• Creative problem solver who can incorporate new learnings into existing plans and act decisively and independently.
• Experience in the digital media buying and planning space with several years of experience in the shopper marketing, eRetail, or Retail Media Network space,
• Hand-on keyboard platform experience with GAM/DFP, Criteo a plus,
• Expertise with publisher-side tools such as Google Ad Manager (GAM) and Google AdSense,
• Experience with Criteo, PromoteIQ, CitrusAd, or Instacart,
• Understanding of the supplier and vendor relationship for a Retail Media Network
• Understanding of digital media channels - programmatic, paid social, paid search
• Understanding of the digital media landscape with a focus on shopper marketing, eRetail, or retail media networks.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred. MBA valued.
