The Role:
The Lead Analytical Chemist reports to the Sr. Manager - Global Analytical Technology and will provide expert Analytical services to support SI Group goals.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Analytical Services
- Contribute to on-time completion of all analysis requests from Process Development, Manufacturing and the Business.
- Run routine general chromatographic methods, and development of new chromatographic methods.
- Run certificate of analysis testing for new suppliers' raw materials & products
- Provide analysis for Regulatory team on SI Group Products.
- Utilize all analytical techniques/equipment to solve complex chemical problems.
Analytical Training, Infrastructure, Safety and Compliance
- Lead training efforts for Analytical and R&D staff, and maintain Analytical equipment infrastructure.
- Identify gaps in Analytical methods and subsequent CAPEX recommendation or identification of outside services.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure global labs operate safely and teams are proactive in driving safe behaviors.
- Guide safety culture and mindset.
- Ensure 100% compliance to company policies and local regulations on environment, safety, and security.
Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
- MS in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry Preferred)
- Minimum of 4 years experience as an analytical scientist in an industrial R&D and/or chemical manufacturing industry
- Experience in chromatography including GC, GCMS, using Agilent instruments and software
- Experience with GCMS method development and problem solving
- Experience with SEC/GPC, HPLC, LCMS preferred
- Experience with analytical techniques including elemental, quantification of species, thermal, mechanical preferred
- Working knowledge of analytical data repository and workflow systems (such as LIMS), Chromatographic Data Systems and Titration Techniques and software preferred
