Job Title: Analytical Chemist
Department: Research and Development
SUMMARY:
Sunrider Manufacturing in Midlothian, Texas is looking for a Analytical Chemist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity, where you will monitors day-to-day laboratory regulatory compliance, method and instrument performance, and performs testing on raw materials and finished products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned as the department's needs dictate.
- Performs quantitative analyses of various raw materials and finished products, including OTC drugs, and does so in a timely manner.
- Coordinates with other R&D groups and the QC department to obtain samples for testing.
- Performs instrument calibration.
- Participates in method development, validation, and transfer.
- Writes relevant SOPs when required.
- Assures that reports of analyses, analytical methods, method validation reports, instrument calibration reports, and other technical reports are accurate, regulatory compliant, and conform to all relevant SOPs.
- Ensures appropriate regulatory compliance in all relevant laboratory activities.
- Participates in various elements of laboratory operations such as calibration, maintenance, housekeeping, and stocking of supplies.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in chemistry with an analytical emphasis; and an additional 1 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate knowledge of common analytical tools and wet chemistry techniques. Experience in HPLC a must. Experience in GC, MS, and FTIR a plus. Must have knowledge of work in a GMP environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific literature, technical journals and legal documents. Ability to write reports and analytical SOPs. Ability to present information to company management and staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and statistical formulas.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
