Job DescriptionAbout the role:

As a member of Takeda Oncology, as a Director, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision: We aspire to cure cancer. As part of the US Patient Value & Access team, you will report to Head of Pricing, Contracting and Access Analytics and partner with key internal stakeholders.

How you will contribute:
  • Develop presentations for matrix partners and senior leadership with clear storylines, grounded on insights and holistic business concepts and deliver clear conclusions and recommendations founded in rational business sense and own perspective.

  • Analyze and interpret large and complex data sets to provide insights and recommendations to improve processes, reporting, and performance.

  • Lead the delivery of therapeutic area specific analytical insights in response to market access landscape, issues and trends.

  • Generate insights and develop KPIs as part of US market access readiness launch activities, including evaluating in-market analogs pricing & contracting environment, payer/PBM landscape, clinic/hospital economics, employer groups, value-based agreements and other landscape activities. Leverage syndicated and desk research to inform critical customer and competitor trends, where applicable.

  • Understand the impact of utilization management controls, tiering and formulary or medical policy impact on overall demand, use of therapeutic alternatives and co-pay support.

  • Conduct investigative analytics to validate and/ or quantify market access-related phenomenon related to competitive or customer tactics. Identify through quantitative methods, value drivers that guide options to remove barriers to access and improve brand value proposition.

  • Perform claims analysis and identify market dynamics that demonstrate the impact of payer and/or provider utilization controls.

  • Conduct proactive research and analysis of various data sources, digestion of industry publications and engagement of internal/external stakeholders to define channel, segment and payer mix.

  • Proficiently manage stakeholders and vendors, leading analytics to deliver compelling learnings and formulating analytical assessments meant to drive strategies that will address any perceived access opportunities or issues.

  • Partner to collaboratively develop and deliver account team insights.

  • Partner to build causal dashboards and direct the design process translating business requirements to the final dashboard or reporting solution ensuring all assets are end user friendly.

  • Scan the market to understand key trends impacting markets and customers and integrate relevant structured and unstructured data to support the development of analytical models.

  • Utilize understanding of findings to defend own position and secure alignment with senior leadership on recommendations.

  • Build and apply measurable KPIs focusing on impact of strategies implemented.

  • Embody a culture of sharing information where data experts work together to develop solutions and leverage each other’s skills and knowledge across the organization.

  • Compile, maintain and understand data/reports/tools sources and vendor budget across Access.

  • Develop the analytic aspects of the USOBU’s commercial and government pricing plan.

  • Manage government and commercial contracting and provide advanced market analytics and support the strategic decision making by senior management.

  • Provide the commercial, market access, and contracting analytics for all inline and new products and be charged with taking strategic portfolio approach to the disciplines.

  • Build a robust pricing & contracting strategy and engage in negotiations with external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably within Business, Finance, Economics or related field

  • Master’s degree or an advanced degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of overall experience with 5-7 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or consulting.

  • Previous experience in a US role.

  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of US Market Access in Oncology.

  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution.

  • Highly collaborative; ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different geographies

  • Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective IT-enabled solutions.

  • Exceptional skills with regards to Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and management of large datasets. Experience with reporting tools (Tableau, QlikView) is required.

  • Experience partnering with data engineers and data scientists preferred.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn the impact of international reference pricing, cross-indication referencing and affordability considerations and solutions (e.g. tiered pricing), managed entry schemes.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$169,400.00 - $266,200.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
