Sr. Materials Scientist / Analytical Chemist

Houston Electron Microscopy, Inc. is an industrial materials analysis laboratory located in Stafford, TX. The laboratory specializes in Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Micro-chemical analysis of various materials including metals, ceramics, plastics, and geological samples. SEM/EDS analysis can provide conclusive proof needed for failure analysis and identify microscopic particles or contamination causing process and wear problems. Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sr. Materials Scientist. The Sr. Materials Scientist will be responsible for researching and developing new materials, conducting laboratory analysis using SEM and other micro-chemical techniques, and interpreting results to provide solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• M.S./Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, and/or related fields, with a minimal GPA 3.5.
• Industrial experiences 0-5 years.
• Laboratory Skills and Materials Science knowledge.
• Research and Development (R&D) skills
• Experience with material science, general Analytical Chemistry, polymers and knowledge of problem solving by using multiple techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and organized approach to work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience conducting laboratory analysis using SEM, EDS, and other micro-chemical techniques is a plus.
• Experiences in FTIR, ICP-OES, XRF, GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC is a plus.
• Experiences in metal and coating corrosion study, polymer failure analysis, is a plus.

Other Requirements

The position is a full-time on-site position in regular hours, with 5-10% local travel.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
