A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HSPC LANDSCAPER:
- Following a design scheme to professionally install living plant material from blooming to seasonal exterior to trees and interior foliage.
- Working directly with Landscape Architects and certified Horticulturists
- Inspecting to assure all plants are free from disease and insects.
- Proper training, maintenance and safe use of company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Pull, prepare and load all needed supplies for each day’s planned tasks.
- Participate in company provided personal development programs to acquire a working knowledge of all plant names, their water/light/fertilizer requirements, safe equipment operation, etc.
- Developing awareness and knowledge of client locations, inventories, and pertinent history
- Proper training for operation of forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, pruners, saws, irrigation systems and other necessary equipment.
- Acquiring knowledge of proper pruning techniques for larger palms and other tree varieties.
- Completing seasonal color rotation for interior and exterior landscapes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO OFFER:
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record in good standing
- Love for plants and nature
- Work Experience which demonstrates responsibility, punctuality, respect for fellow team members and the company, and a history of working consistently for at least of one employer for a minimum of two full years.
- At minimum of two years of landscaping
- Able to follow GPS mapping
- Ability to utilize provided company SMART phone for photo and video use and communication
Able to make decisions, communicate professionally and effectively, take direction from management, and work productively when on client sites.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This job requires the ability to safely lift and carry 50 lbs. or more. The individual performing this job must also be able to climb ladders; have good dexterous use of both hands; have the ability to use shovels, rakes, scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses, and other small tools; be able to apply leaf cleaners and insecticides using hand-help pump sprayers; and have the ability to tolerate varying climates.
