Samaritan Healthcare is looking for a Lab Director to join our amazingly dedicated lab team! In addition to our hospital-based services, Samaritan offers outpatient lab testing or analysis at our three convenient laboratory locations.
We are inspected, accredited, and/or licensed by the following organizations:
- College of American Pathologists
- Washington State Department of Health
- DNV-GL
- FDA

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Laboratory Director is responsible for managing, coordinating, and performing the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Laboratory operations. In this role, the Laboratory Director will assist the CAO with the oversight and implementation of facility-related operational planning, budgets, and workflow processes. The Laboratory Director is responsible for employee selection, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations. The individual in this position shall maintain the highest standards of professional performance for the benefit of the patient, physician, and community, in accordance with the professional standards and ethics of Medical Technologists. This is a full-time, salary-exempt position.
We are seeking the following credentialing and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science plus four (4) years training and/or experience in high complexity testing.
- Must meet CLIA requirements for a high complexity Laboratory.
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role in a hospital Laboratory preferred.
- Nationally recognized certification as MT (ASCP or equivalent).
- Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire
