Immediate opportunity for a Site Operations Specialist to support laboratory operations for a gene therapy company located in South San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities include autoclaving instruments and glassware, monitoring laboratory consumables, checking freezer temperatures. This is a great opportunity to work with a great group of scientists, in a positive culture, performing meaningful work in the scientific field.
Schedule/Shift: 1st shift, Mon.-Fri.
Position Type: Contract position for 6 mos.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory supply, ordering lab supplies
- Clean and autoclave laboratory glassware to maintain a constant supply of clean and sterile lab glassware
- Removal of biohazard and chemical waste from laboratory bins
- Replenish consumables in lab
- Prepare and autoclave supplies and reagents
Qualifications:
- Familiarity working in a lab setting
- Experience with glass washing, autoclaving, disposal of bio-hazardous waste
- Knowledge of sharps, medical / chemical / waste disposal, hazards communications, etc.
- EHS training preferred but not required
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
