Contract: 12 months (likely to be extended or converted to direct)
Location: Jackson, MI
Schedule: Onsite| M-F | 2pm-1030pm | OT Eligible
Compensation: $28-$32/hour, PTO, and optional benefits

Your Role in the Lab:
As a Quality Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. You will use your expertise in chemistry to perform quality control tests with precision and accuracy, supporting our Batch Manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and experimenting with non-conforming materials to meet our exacting product specifications. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and organized work area, validate laboratory equipment, monitor supplies, and respond to customer complaints and quality concerns.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and sign all related documentation
- Conduct root cause analysis on product quality concerns
- Maintain laboratory equipment
- Perform quality control tests on manufactured goods and raw materials
- Maintain lab calibration/validation/verification records
- Interact with R&D/Management on Quality Concerns and Investigations
- Support improvement programs and laboratory accreditation activities
- Assist in method validations and measurement uncertainty studies
- Cross-train within all aspects of the QC laboratory
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field (Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience considered)
- Experience in wet chemistry techniques
- Knowledge of Analytical Instrumentation principles and operation
- Familiarity with Quality Standards (ISO 9001/TS16949/ISO17025)
- Competent knowledge of Acids & Bases, Surfactants, Oils and Distillates, saponification, ION exchange principles, and solubility of substances
- Excellent skills with MS Office, Lotus Notes, SAP inventory database, and PLC software operation
- Self-motivation and ability to multitask
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures and personal protective equipment
