Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT)
Type: Full-time, with rotating call and weekend shifts
Harlan County Health Systems is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vital information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing laboratory tests in various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories
- Receive, type, test, and record blood bank inventories
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as relevant safety and quality standards
- Participate in rotating call and weekend shifts as required
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible patient care
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably in a critical access hospital
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
