Position Summary
This position is responsible for auditing and assisting team members with processing operations in the mixing and hose manufacturing areas. This position performs all activities associated with the QA / Lab Technician using a variety of test equipment to perform tests on rubber hoses and rubber compounds.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Must be able to perform all activities associated with Quality Assurance Lab Technician
2. Assist in ISO Internal Audits Procedures and Process Audit.
3. Audit processes and work areas for conformance to appropriate instructions, materials, and identification.
4. Operate electronic data collecting equipment along with a network-based computer system.
5. Verify accuracy of gages and measuring instruments, such as calipers, plug gages, dial indicators, and pressure gages using master gages and standards.
6. Conduct Gage R&R
7. Accurately read gages, prints, part identification, specifications, and procedures.
8. Actively participate in Parker's "Lean" initiatives.
9. Ability to work all shifts and work overtime as necessary
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
11. Assist with data and product/process information and analysis.
12. Assist with PPAP data collection and documentation
13. Detect and report problems or unusual conditions to manager/supervisor.
14. Perform line inspections when necessary
15. Maintain departmental records.
16. Document nonconforming goods through internal quality system and communicate the non-conformances to the appropriate party.
17. Assist in PFMEAs, control plans and process improvements.
18. Perform standard test and/or preliminary evaluation programs for product compliance as well as root cause analysis on samples of routine products and defective products.
19. Perform product inspection and testing as required per appropriate specification or standard.
20. Conduct process capability studies
21. Obtain, evaluate, and document testing requirements on designated raw materials and finished goods.
22. Perform Receiving Audits in accordance with applicable procedures, standards and instructions
23. Generate inspection reports, make dispositions, and maintain database.
24. Perform containment procedures and maintain hold area.
25. Attend special training classes as necessary to maintain certifications and improve skill sets
26. Train new team members in Quality related skills and procedures.
27. Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers
28. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
29. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S..
30. Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.
Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
Previous experience in manufacturing preferred

Report directly to Quality Coordinator
Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee may be subject to:
High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
Exposure to nuisance fumes
1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
4. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
