Position:Kids & Student Director for Pflugerville Campus
Reporting structure: Reports directly to our Pflugerville Campus Pastor (dotted line to our Kids Lead & Student Lead)
FLSA Status: This is an exempt 30 hour per week position with benefits
Position Overview:
The Kids & Student Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the kids and student ministries within Gateway Church at our Pflugerville Campus. This role requires a passionate individual with experience in working with kids and students, who can effectively develop, implement, and manage programs that foster spiritual growth, community engagement, and enjoyable experiences for kids and students.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Vision:
- Develop a clear vision and strategy for the kids and student ministries, aligning it with the organization's overall mission and values.
- Provide visionary leadership to the kids and student ministry teams, inspiring and supporting them in fulfilling their roles effectively.
- Collaborate with ministry leads in implementing and aligning the ministry with the overall church vision.
2. Program Development and Management:
- Create and deliver engaging and age-appropriate programming for kids and students, supporting their spiritual growth, social development, and emotional well-being.
- Coordinate and oversee the scheduling, planning, and execution of all kids and student ministry activities, such as big group teaching, small groups, camps, retreats, special events, etc.
- Recruit, train, and equip a team of volunteers and leaders to assist in various roles within the kids and student ministries.
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children, adhering to Gateway's relevant policies and procedures.
3. Discipleship:
- Build meaningful relationships with kids, students, and their families, providing pastoral care, mentorship, and guidance when needed.
- Implement a comprehensive discipleship program that focuses on nurturing the spiritual growth and formation of kids and students.
- Create opportunities for kids and students to engage in worship, community service, and outreach activities, facilitating their involvement in bigger church initiatives.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster positive collaboration and relationships with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about upcoming events, programs, and ministry updates.
- Collaborate with other ministry leaders and teams to ensure a seamless integration of the kids and student ministries with the overall church community.
- Utilize various communication methods (social media, visiting schools, website, newsletters, and encouraging kids and students to recruit) to effectively publicize and promote the kids and student ministry activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in theology, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with kids and/or students in a ministry or educational setting.
- Understanding and experience with child and adolescent development, and the ability to adapt guidance and teaching methods accordingly, preferred.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train, and lead a team of volunteers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect well with kids, students, parents, and team members.
- Deep commitment to spiritual growth and personal faith, with a willingness to align with Gateway's theological beliefs.
