Position Summary
Special Qualifications:
Major Job Functions:
- Conduct thorough reviews of aircraft maintenance records to document changes to aircraft configuration in maintenance system of record.
- Assists business unit line maintenance and business group heavy maintenance planners with aircraft configuration data to effectively plan for upcoming maintenance requirements.
- Assists supply chain management functions at business unit and business group levels to accurately forecast component and supply requirements based on aircraft configuration.
- Participate in review of maintenance records, both digital and paper, for newly acquired aircraft and engines for input into digital maintenance system of record to ensure accurate and complete starting point for aircraft entry into service.
- Audit and verify aircraft configuration data as required to maintain accurate and complete configuration records.
- Ensure that all configuration records for aircraft, engines, accessories and components are properly maintained and retained/archived as required by the FAA and Company policies. Ensure old or non-essential records are purged from files and transferred to long term storage as necessary.
- Develop and monitor effective controls and procedures for assuring accuracy and integrity of all aircraft configuration digital transactions.
Coordinate periodic inspections and audits of aircraft configuration records with Quality Control, FAA and other regulatory authorities, and customers as required.
Required Qualifications
- Three years prior experience working in a position directly responsible for maintenance of aircraft configuration data in a digital system of record.
- Understanding of FAA compliance requirements for maintenance of aircraft configuration data.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Prior aircraft maintenance experience as a qualified A&P mechanic.
- Prior experience working on maintenance of the KC-135R, to include documentation of maintenance records in a digital system of record.
- Prior experience working with Flight Docs as a maintenance system of record.
Required Education
- High school diploma, or GED certificate.
Preferred Education
- Associates Degree or higher in an aviation specific discipline
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
