THE BASICS:

The Junior Staff Accountant is an integral role within our finance department and is instrumental in maintaining precise financial records, supporting month-end processes, providing data-driven insights, and ensuring successful annual audits. The candidate's experience and Excel proficiency will contribute significantly to the finance department in supporting both e-commerce accounting reconciliation and finance functions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Inventory Accounting:

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking purchases, sales, and adjustments.
  • Regularly reconcile inventory levels to ensure accuracy for inventory-related e-commerce stores.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to determine inventory valuation methods and calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS).

Cash and Bank Reconciliation:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of cash and bank transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cash and bank accounts promptly.
  • Ensure precise recording and classification of all financial transactions related to cash and bank activities.

Assist Senior Accountants with Month-End Reconciliation:

  • Work closely with the Senior Accountants to provide support for month-end financial reconciliation processes.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries as needed to update financial accounts.
  • Verify and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

Ad Hoc Analysis Projects:

  • Actively participate in ad hoc financial analysis projects, responding to requests from the finance team or management.
  • Leverage strong Excel skills to analyze financial data, generate reports, and present findings to support decision-making.

Analysis and Research for Yearly Audits:

  • Assist in compiling, organizing, and preparing audit documentation and schedules for annual audits.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audit procedures and address inquiries.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and research to ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Approximately 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
