The Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the accounting function including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Support and Purchasing when needed. Support the month end process, help with GL maintenance, journal entries and posting cash. Support the team with weekly/monthly reports.
Duties/Responsibilities Split with AP, AR, and Purchasing:
AR:
- Prepares, posts, verifies and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Processes billing and submits invoices to customers.
- Process credit card payments and record deposits for incoming checks.
- File preliminary Liens and Lien Waivers when needed.
- Ability to understand and read contracts for customer terms.
- Reconcile Invoicing against payments when differences occur.
- Provides or facilitates accurate reports and analysis on financial data and metrics such as cash forecasting, sales statistic information, and monthly net sales reports.
AP:
- Reconcile, match receipts and code GL accounts for Credit Cards.
- Post Invoices into Global Shop (ERP System)
- Understand 3-way matching process.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable Aging against the Vendor Statements.
- Bank Reconciliation for Accounts Payable.
- Select Invoices for Payment
- Weekly check Run.
- Year-end issue 1099s.
- Organize Fixed Asset Invoices.
- Ability to understand and read contracts for customer terms.
- Reconcile Invoicing against payments when differences occur.
Purchasing:
- Understand the Global Shop (ERP System) Purchasing Dashboard.
- Match receipts for purchasing Credit Cards.
- Issue Purchase Orders.
- Help Purchasing Manager with quoting.
- Work with Accounts Payable to resolve difference with Vendor Invoices
- Work with the Receiving Department when data is incorrect or missing.
Other Duties:
- Assists department manager with analysis of data and reports.
- Communicates information and guidance from company leadership and review policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
