Junior-Midlevel Associate (Mandarin Chinese Speaker)

We are a dynamic and thriving boutique law firm located in the heart of New York City, specializing in civil (business) litigation and family law. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Junior-Midlevel Associate with proficiency in Mandarin Chinese .

Position: Junior-Midlevel Associate (Chinese MandarinSpeaker)Location: New York, NY

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior attorneys on civil litigation including business litigation and family law matters (particularly those involving litigation).
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
• Attend court hearings and assist in trial preparation.
• - Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests
• Attend depositions and conduct witness interviews
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
• Use Chinese Mandarin language skills to assist in cases involving Chinese-speaking clients or counterparts;
• Depending on interest, there may also be opportunities to gain experience in corporate formation and governance, as well as Trusts and Estates;

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Chinese Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Admission to the New York Bar or intention to take the next New York Bar exam;
• Prior experience in civil litigation or family law is preferred but not required;
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills;
• Proficient in legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously;
• Familiarity with corporate formation and trusts a plus but not required;
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
