Junior Accountant

Ascendo Resources is actively seeking a Junior Accountant for a fully remote, temp-to-perm opportunity with a mission driven organization in Manhattan! This candidate will be a interal part of the organization by assisting with responsibilities that include but are not limited to monthly closing, assisting with monthly financial schedule and financial statements.
Job Title: Junior Accountant
Pay Range: $50,000-$60,000/year
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9-5pm (35 hour work week)
Location: Remote - Candidates MUST reside in New York
Responsibilities:

• Drive financial planning, analysis, and reporting to enhance decision-making and prioritize projects effectively.
• Develop monthly cash rent receipt schedules, including detailed percentage analysis.
• Conduct thorough analysis of Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts on both monthly and quarterly intervals, furnishing corresponding financial reports regularly.
• Craft annual budgets aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate monthly vacancy loss for various projects, ensuring proactive measures are taken to mitigate risks.
• Generate insightful monthly forecasting reports to facilitate strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Coordinate the compilation of cash receipt schedules from rent assistance programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.
• Serve as a key liaison with lenders and banks, meticulously preparing compliance loan covenant reports to uphold financial obligations.
• Take ownership of monthly general ledger cleanup, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct thorough bank reconciliations, oversee wire and ACH reports, and execute journal entries with precision.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 1+ years of experience of accounting
• Month end closing experience
• Resides in the Tri State area
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs required)
