SalaryLerner, Arnold & Winston, LLP is a well-established Plaintiffs' personal injury and first-party insurance practice law firm. We are seeking 2 Junior Litigation Associates for our growing practice. The positions are based in our Midtown, Manhattan office and fully in-person.
We are looking for 2 junior level associates with 2 to 5/6 years' experience in Plaintiffs' Personal Injury and First Party Insurance/Property damage practice areas. Our office is looking for very motivated individuals who want to learn and are willing to hit the ground running.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- JD degree required with excellent academic credentials
- Must be Admitted to New York Bar (pending admission will be rejected)
- 2-6 years of relevant litigation experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong professional judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate professionally to internal and external clients
- Proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic
Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, correspondence and briefs
- Assist with case management and preparation for trials and hearings
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Attend depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed
- Assist with document review and discovery process
- Maintain accurate and organized case files
- Handle case files from pre-suit to trial
Skills:
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in legal research tools and software
- Knowledge of civil procedure and litigation process
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
As a Junior Associate, you will be responsible for providing support to other attorneys and partners in all stages of the litigation process. We offer a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package and a collaborative, friendly environment. The salary range for this role is $90,000-$135,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience. Generous bonus package available after probationary period.
