Lee & Lum, LLP is a Manhattan-based boutique law firm seeking an Associate Attorney to join our complex commercial litigation and construction law practice. Our firm combines legal, business, and industry insight to help clients navigate shifting legal challenges in business disputes and contract negotiations for the development of residential and commercial properties in New York. We hold a high standard for delivering effective legal services for our clients since we work with reputable New York-based real estate developers, various trades involved in the construction process, and investors to assist them on pivotal deals, dispute resolution, and regulatory matters within our core practice areas.
Who We Are Looking For:
This role is an opportunity to jump in at the ground level of a growing law firm with fantastic long-term potential. We are looking for someone with a passion to learn, solve problems, and be proactive in their day-to-day work. The candidate should have a comprehensive commercial litigation skill set to handle litigation matters from the pleading stage through trial, should be experienced in legal research, drafting pleadings and briefs, overseeing document collection, review, and production, and interacting with clients. In addition, the candidate will play an integral role in growing our firm's construction law practice by reviewing and drafting contracts related to business ventures and the development of new residential and commercial construction.
Qualifications:
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
- Must be admitted to the New York State Bar (admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus)
- A willingness to learn and ask questions
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize with a sense of urgency
- Excellent organizational and creative problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented
- Being able to perform independently
- Proficient in legal research
- Judicial clerkship is a plus
- Enthusiasm for the work we do for our clients!
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000
