Job Description
A New York City healthcare services organization is currently seeking a new Junior HR Generalist for a promising opportunity with their growing team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Junior HR Generalist will be responsible for handling primary onboarding, taking care of transfers, and assisting with other duties, as needed.
About the Opportunity:
- Department: Human Resources
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (35 hours / week)
Responsibilities:
The Junior HR Generalist will
- Issue job offer letters and other internal communication, onboarding, and new hire benefits presentation to all new hires
- Oversee the processing of all employment paperwork
- Ensure references are checked, pre-employment physical and background checks are completed prior to applicant's employment
- Follow up with Department Heads regarding new hire start dates and orientation schedules
- Follows up on internal transfers and union referrals
- Compile and input data into HRIS system
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related HR experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Working knowledge of HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, and/or Hospital Administration
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft
