Junior Accountant / Assistant Accountant

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Junior Accountant / Assistant Accountant to support the rapid growth of our business. This is a critical hire that will work with cross functional teams and manage the timely and accurate processing of invoices, expenses and own related reporting functions.*

• A history of working with such tools as Excel and Sage.

Duties:

• Maintaining AP
• Perform and assist in month-end closing procedures including AP reconciliation and AP accruals.
• Assist with performing balance sheet reconciliations for designated accounts.
• Establish communication with vendors, partners, and employees to address and resolve any issues.
• Code invoices in accounting software to ensure they are applied to the proper accounts.
• Assist with accurately entering, maintaining, and processing information in payroll systems.
• Obtain, maintain and update vendor records (W-9s, payment mailing addresses, etc.)
• Support and reconcile corporate credit cards.
• Support in daily financial and accounting tasks for businesses and assists all areas of finance such as bank reconciliation, recurring journal entries, collections, filings, etc.
• Provide support to the finance team and all other duties as assigned.
• Proactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to ensure timely monthly close, accuracy of accounting entries, and operational efficiency.
• Process year-end 1099 issuance and 1096 transmittal to the IRS.
• Comply with and promote corporate policies, procedures and ensure that proper internal controls are being followed.
• Establish yourself as an integral member of the accounting team and contribute to the AP best practices.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Experience:

• Microsoft Excel: 3 years (Preferred)
• Accounts Payable: 2 years (Preferred)
